LUNDON. June 25-The Times says
that Sir Archibald Hunter, Governor
of Gibraltar, will resign at the end
of the present month and will be
succeeded by Sir Herbert Miles. lt
will be recalled that _n few months
ago the governor delivered to a. de-
putation from the Gibraltar chamber
of commerce a speech in which he
criticized the attitude of the ghambgr
towards his own measures of reform
:ind commented severely on the work-
ing of the jury system, imputing to
native jurors partiality in favor of
native residents as opposed as to the
hingiisli, These expressions of opin-
ion crested great indignation among
the inhabitants and a deputation was
appointed to proceed to London and

flour has received a strong impetus

the mills have advanced their prices
to this extent. The cause is due to
the scarcity uf Ontario wheat and
the large demand for export trade.
Local wholesalers report no likeli-
hood of a decrease beiore the sun
crosses the Equator and the second
crop is harvested. Flour has not
been so high for two years at this
season.

for the ordination and induction of
Rev. T. A. Wilson into the pastoral
charge of the Presbyterian congrega-

Dr. Fullerton presided and ordained;
Rev. George Miller preached the ser-
mon ior the occasion; Rev. H. J.
Fraser addressed the minister and
llev. Robert Murray, the people.

-GETS APPOINTMENT.-Dr. Jas.
W. Macneill, M.L.A. for Hanley, Sas-
katchewan, formerly of Keswick
Ridge, York Co., and a. son-in-law of
Mr. John A. Campbell, ex-M. P. for
Yorlr, is to be medical superintendent
of n new insane asylum now being
erected by the Government oi Sas-
katchewan xrt Battleford. Dr. Mac-
iwill. who has been making an inspec-
tion oi’ asylums for the insane in the
United States, arrived here last week
and left this morning for the Tobi-
que, where he will be the guest of
Mr. Donald Fraser on a fishing trio.
It is the intention to leave earlv
next month, accompanied by his
wife, on a trip to Europe. Dr. Mac-
neill is a native of Prince Edward
Island and a graduate of McGill Uni-
versity. He removed to Saskatche-
wan eight years ago and in 1908 was
elected to the Legislature for Han-
ley as a supporter of the Scott Gov-
ernment. He was re-elected last year
by an increased majority. (Dr. Mac-
neill mentioned above is a brother of
Drs. Alex. and John Macneill, Sum-
merside, mid has been prominent. in
locni politics in the West for some
time.-J.
