The Provincial Legislature yesterday
by n. unanimous vote adopted the memor-
ial which appears elsewhere in this issue,
with regard io communication with thi-
Mainland. We regard this action us is
remarkably favorable and auspicious out-
come of the agitation and discussion
which has taken place throughout the
Province during several months past. At.
first public opinion was in it somewhat
chaotic condition with regard to the best
remedy for our grievances. There was

ion, us well as successive prorogntions
of the Legislature becumc necessary. It
was not till 10th March that the Conven-
tion yr as held tn this city, resulting in the

the Government for the construction of n

liiembcrs of the Commons from this Pro-
vince, were given u prolonged hearing by
the Premier und Finance Minister of

tunnel and winter steamer hnckcd by thc

adequate and permanent remedy. Now
we have the unanimous resolution of the
Provincial Legislature along the same

and only ndcqunte remedy for our winter
isolation. Thus has the public sentiment'
of the people of the Inland been brought
to a focus sud concentrated with bumlngi
