Tus only case before the Stipendiary Magistrate this forenoon was that of Alixis McLeod, an insane woman, who was yester day arrested on complaint of Mr. George Walker.., all she beholds ; has power to intrude on all premises, whether public or private ; and aright to collect all the rents of her imagi estate, which consists of the whole City of Charlottetown. She entered Zion Church on Sunday, the 19th inst., took a front pew, and by her acts disturbed- the whole congregation. A prominent mem- ber—Mr. Walker—gently led her to the door, where Alixis halted, questioned his right to eject her from her premises, called a number of choice names, and, lastly, closed one of his eyes with a spit. She then left the Church, vowing vengeance against him. Mr. Walker is a Dominion messenger, and is very seldom off the street. Alixis frequents the public offices, and may at any time be found roving about Queen Square. She meets Mr. Walker several times every day, attacks him violently, tells him of the hideous deeds done by his great- great-grandfather, and winds up by spittiny inhiseye. She was sentenced to twentg days imprisonment. DE ee Bradalbane Notes. May 27, 1878. There was quite a sensation around the village on Friday morning last, created from the fact that a quantity of oysters and ale had arrived by train on the evening pre- vious, and its destination could not be fully ascertained. Butas it is the custom for some of our neighboring men™to hold se- cret meetings for the purpose of indulging in such as the above, its whereabouts is not uncertain.
