He was born in Springton on August 25th, 1864, the son of Angus Stewart and Isabella (Mac- Kinnon) Stewart, and resided on 'the homestead until 1918 when he moved to Kerrobert Sask. In ward Island, locating at Breadal- bane, where he remained until his death. at the advanced age of 93 years. The late Mr. Stewart was ’a Justice of the Peace for sixty years. and a Commissioner. Pos- sessed of a keen intellect and re- markable memory. his wise sought his advice, and he "re- tained these faculties until the onset of his sudden ‘illness on December 11th. His wife, the former Bessie M. Gillis of Rose ‘Valley, predeceas- ed him, also three daughters, Florence, Jennie and Hazel and one son, Dr. Charles E. Stewart of -New Glasgow, N.s. Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Spencer and Neil of Saskatche- wan, and four daughters, Anna- bel, (Mrs. Vernon Palmer) of Melvern Square. N. S. Ethel, (Mrs. Robert Smith) of Plenty, Sask. Lillian. R. N. Toronto_and- Mary E. who resided with’ her father since the death of Mrs. Stewart in 1926. I Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Neil, Van- couver. B. C.. Daniel A..and Effie (Mrs. Robert Watson), Belmont, Mass, John A. 'Central Bedeque and Elizabeth(Mrs. Archibald Livingstone) Clyde River. The funeral, which was held on December 23rd at 2 p. m., from Bfeadalbane United Church, of which the deceased was a member, was largely attended by relatives and friends. The ser- vice was conducted by his pastor, Rev. H. S. Raynor, who brought a message of comfort to the bereaved. Hymns sung were: “Unto the Hills Around," and "Abide With Me.” The pallbearers were Allan Hickox, Ivan Kennedy, Lawrence Newson, Harold Toombs, Cuyler Matheson and Lionel Robinson.
