THE ELECTORS 0F THE CITY
Ladies and Gentlmen:
Having been solicited by a large number of
the citizens and tax payers of Charlottetown to
offer as a candidate for the Mayoralty at the
forth coming election,'I have consented to offer
for the office and beg to solicit your support and
influence.
An extended report of the past yeai-‘s work
is now before you. You will observe that we have
succeeded to make revenues and expenditures
meet and have a balance to the good. ~
My work at the Council Board is well known
to most of the tax payers of the city and I think
that I may fairly assume that the result of my
work meets with the approval of the iiinjoi'it_r ot'
-the citizens.
Many of my friends believe that I am en-
titled to the position on account of my length oi'
service to the city, having served for a greater
length of time than any member of the Council
Board and have performed the duties of my oiiice
in a fair and efficient manner since becoming a
member of the Council. _
If you do me the honor of election there will
be nothing negative with regard to my policy for
the forthcoming term. I will use every effort
to promote all and ever_\‘ good work undertaken
by the Council for the gcnerzil ii'cli`are and liet-
terment of the city. '
Charlottetown has made inuch prog'i'ess in
civic betterment in the past several _years and I
believe that I can claim a fair share of the credit
for the progress that has been inade l will be
unable to see personall_i' the electors before
polling day and rely upon the citizens of Char-
lottetown, Whose sense of fair play and justice
is well known, to rally to my support.
