Friday evcniiig closed 9. sue-` A cessful series of united evangelistic a 3 _ -_r_.- 'rii - f- .-if services at Murray Harbor. ese Si services were held for three weeks in ‘ ii- lthe Methodist and Presbyterian ’ _ _.'_- '2 churches., and were conducted by ' , 'fg- » ._-5' Evangelist J. S. MacKay. For the .' S most part, throughout the campaign, _ l the weather was favorable, and the attendance large. The Evangelist spoke at every meet- ing and under the powot' of his plain and impressive gospel sermons, and his earnest and loving 'appeals,Chris- tians were oditied and strengthened; sleeping professors were aroused, some thirty-tive personswere led tct Christ, and, before the services closed, many more gave evidence of being moved to serious thoughts about eternal things. The churches and community at large will no doubt feel, tor along time to come, the gracious influence of this work of God. To those who have been associated with Mr. MacKay in his work here, and .have sat under his preaching, night after night, it is clearly evid- eht that, by means of mitch Bible- stludy, and prayer and consecration, and through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, he is specially qualitied for the work ot an evangelist. With~ our doubt, he is a General in the Army of the Lord. I-Ie knows well how to command the Christian for- ces, and use the sword of _the Spirit. He is strong and fearless in his de- nounciations of sin, and in listlening to him, one is convinced that it is because he has s. heart so full of love for the sinner. . ' Thank. God for a preacher, whose ,_ christiian courage. and burning love for souls, constrain him to ever lift up the Divine standard of truth be- fore the -people, and proclaim the ftill uldlfashioiied gospel, that puts men and women uiidei' conviction of sin, and, through faith, is inadc to them the power ol God unto salvn tiun. _ _ __-.__..._a_ __._._.._ _,_A__._.-_ ._ _.-._...- - -.-_1-.~--~-- May God richly _reward Evangelist. 1 dirty for the soul-reviving ~ and _ _ ____ , "The liig Trans-Atlantic liners ar- (Y.
