COMBINED TALENT Also in the group were France Davies, who designed I skirt for the Queen when she visited Can- ada. and Jacques de Montjoyo who was trained at the Chambre Syn- dicate de la Couture Parlslenne in Paris. Josef Foch represented Nor- bert Niewelt, a Czech oouturier who now makes his home here. "If we feel we can achieve more .13 ll group than by working individ- ually." said Mr. Fours, “why should designers have to go outside the country to gain recognition? France Davies, who was born in Paris, also worked with Mr. Fours before opening her own salon in 1950. Miss Davies’ greatest triumph as a designer came when the town of Longueuil, Que., asked her to make a skirt for them to present to the Queen, then Princess Eliza- beth_ when she visited Canada.
