On returning fro" Europe he brought with him thr- silver cups testifying to his atl-ile-t ability. In the fall of i924 Capt. Flemi" was attached to the staff of St. Dun stairs University where he endear - himself to the student body as s ‘teacher and friend. In this cenncili he remained until the fall oi i928 when he removed to Winnipeg Man. where he was employed on the atafi of the Winnipeg ‘Iribune. In the iautumn of i820 he received his appointment as instructor in Modern lsanguag-es and History at the Royal Military College Kingston. In June he went to Ottawa from B. M. C. where he was engaged in special Research Work at the Archives and it was during his so- journ her: that the fatal accident occurred. Capt. Fleming was a big man in every sense of the word, physically. intellectually and socially. His outlook was that of high ideal: and he was blessed with a mentality which marked him as outstanding among his fellow men and brought lustirc to that dlstinguLshed group of scholars to which he belonged. He was endowed with capacity and equipment to have served ltia country ii-crthily in any walk of life he might have selected and the world and esp-ciallv his friends are the poorer for the rail ailiich cams to him so early in a promising life. He never failed to give evidence of ‘nls loyalty to the Catholic Faith in which he so firmly believed. There are left to mourn his sad loss four brothers Gerald. D'Arcy Arthur and Dermot and one siswi- Mrs. Arthur Malone. His funeral on TUCSGLY August 5th. to St. Anne's Church was a grand tribute to one whose loas la much deplored but we who survive may pro- fit by the suddonness of his passing and keep brfon us that "In the midst of life we are in death".
