A wan named James McSwain was found dead at the head of Connolly’s Breastwork at four o’clock this evening. The de- ceased left his home at Eldon, Belfast, on Saturday last, and walked to this city. He slept at the ‘‘ North American ” on Sunday night, and left early on Monday merning. Since then he was unheard of, although anxiously sought after by his friends. When found by Mr. Felix McGuigan this evening, he was lying face downwards be- hind a pile of beards, about thirty yards from the end of the wharf. His body was frozen stiff, and his face much dis- figured. Biood, previous to death, had flown from his mouth, caused no doubt, by a fall, as he walked down the rickety wharf. When searched, the sum of thirty-four dollars, and papers addressed to ‘‘ James McSwain, Eldon, Bel- fast,’ was found on _ his person. The deceased was a man about five feet eight inches tall, dark complexion, well dressed, and apparently about thirty-five years of ave. An inquest will be held this evening. We learn that the deceased was a school-teacher and a brother of Dr. Mc- Swain. --—~-- 623—— Special Notices.
