Mr. Hinton. _who has iust returned from an` extended business trip, speaking with ’i‘he‘Herald, says he is confident the demand for foxes for breeding purposes, now great, will eventually extend all over Canada, and beyond, and that the present prices for high grade Prince Edward Island breeding stock will be maintained for several years. Speaking as a business man, Mr. Hinton says the ultimate future of thc fox business, as regards pelts, is assured. Hs gives two reasons for this. One is the superior quality of the fur and the increasing demand for it_ in the great markets; the other reason is the fact that the supply of wild fur-bearing animals generally is being exhausted. Prices have more than trebled in the past twenty-years and the efforts of the modern trap- so that the supply must become less and less and finally be practically ex- hausted. This makes theopportunity for iurs from foxes grown in captivi- ty. Fashion and wealth must have the best of furs, regardless oi cost. -Andrew Noonan, Bedeque, spent Sunday in Albany.
