J. Lloyd. | Sir,—Will you give me space ia your columns to make an appeal to the citizens of Charlottetown for subscriptions in suppurt of the Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Animals, of which 1 have the honor of being President. The Society is now more than e year old, and, with common consent, it has been pro- ductive of much good in the community by protecting our domestic animals from the frenzied brutality of thoughtless and cruel persons, and upholding the righteous cause of law and order. Many convictions have been made since the Society began its operations; neither have its members ever relaxed their efforts to protect what are commonly called the members of the lower creation. Our future operations must depend on the tinancial support afforded us by the good people of this flourishing city, and for such | now make a most earnest appeal. City Councillor Hughes,Sec.-Treas., will be giad to receive and acknowledge all con- tributions that may be made. May th: appeal not be made in vain. Frep. E. J. Luoyp, President 8S. P. C, A.
