Ten members were present at the meeting. The topic was Career". Before period, members listened to the radio broadcast which was a panel discussion of the topic. One member of the group contended that, at least nnancially, a young person under average conditions had a. better chance to seek a career in the city; while another two favoured life on the farm. To the first question for discus- sion, namely: "Suppose a young man asked you for advice as to whether or not he should choose farming as a work, what points would you consider most import- ant to strcrs lll your reply?" The group gave the following answers: The young man must be adapt- ed to the farm and have a. liking for farm work; he must have suf- ficient lntelligence to attend to the business and planning -of farming; he must have capital available to equip and stock his farm and he must have the strength and wealth to carry on his work. The second question was: ”How can the attitude of the farm wife affect the success or failure of the farm?". The discussion group came to the conclusion that the farm wife must have a liking for farm life in order that contented, as farming is not only the work of an individual but needs the cooperation of the wholc family. Mr. William Finlayson was chos- cn as the secretary for the cur- rent forum year. Following lunch. ”F'armlng As A the discussion plant for the past eight y('i1l'5., Many of the R. A.
