Brass Quintet to Perform One of Canada’s most sought after chamber ensembles, the Great Lakes Brass will be performing at UPEI’s Steel Recital Hall on Tuesday, November 13, at 8:00 pm. Praised for "exhuberance and exquisite dynamic control", the Great Lakes Brass has toured coast to coast and north of the Arctic Circle. Formed as Quintet-in-Residence for the National Youth Orchestra of Canada’s 1984 season, the Great Lakes Brass has gone on to appearances at EXPO ’86, New York’s Lincoln Centre and Toronto’s Roy Thompson. Hall, and have performed for radio and television and produced an independent recording of their own arrangements. Moat recently they performed in September at the Canada Pavilion at the World’s Fair in Osaka, Japan. These five young musicians playing trumpet, french horn and trombone are sure to provide an_ evening’s entertainment that will delight and captivate you with their warm glamorous sound.
