By the Imperial Act for punishing Mutiny and Desertion, any person who shall by any means whatsoever. directly or indirectly, procure any Soldier to desert. or attempt to procure or persuade any Soldier to desert, and any person who knowing that any .501- dier is about to desert, shall aid or assist- him in deserting, or knowing any Soldier to be a deserter, shall conCeal such deserter, or aid or assist such Deserter in Concealing himself, or aid or assist in his rescue, shall be deemed guilty of a Misdemeanor, and shall on conviction thereof, before any two Justices of the Peace acting for the County, District, City, Burgh or place where any such offence shall at any time happen to be, be liable to be Committed tothe Common Gaol or llouse of Correction, there to be imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for such term, not exceeding 51x CALEXDAIL Mos'ras, as the convicting Justices shall think fit. , Any Tavern Keeper or other person suffering a.
