Because of the Very Serious insufficiency 0i Hospital Accomoiiaiion in Prince Edward island nvaarolvn WILL wear ro no roam UTMOST r0 aasran run BUILDING PROGRAM or rna P. s. I. HOSPITAL. Continuously for many months our Hospitals have been constantly overcrowded-Continuous- ly there have been long waiting lists of those whose hospitalization it is safe to defer-and at: times it has not been possible to find a bed even for emergency cases In addition there are the Wounded and Dis- abled War Veterans belonging to this Province, longing to be transferred from the Military Hospitals in other Provinces to a hospital here. But of necessity their transfer to a Prince Ed- ward Island Hospital must wait. until beds for them are available. Wonderful progress has already been made on the construction of the One Hundred Bed An- nex to the Prince Edward Island Hospital which was started towards the end of 1945. Work is continuing right along throughout the winter months With this Annex completed and the Prince Ed- ward Island Hospital's number of patients‘ beds practically doubled the present very Seri- ous Inufficlency of Hospital Accommodation in this Province will be greatly relieved. Much additional equipment and enlarged facil- ities in various departments will be immediate- ly necessary and the provision of another build- ing to accommodate the additional Nurses and Extra Staff will have to follow at once. The cost-more than Three Hundred Thousand Dollars-is a big sum to provide. Friends of the Hospital-Good Citizens deep- ly concerned for the care of the sick and the suffering-deeply interested in the continued expansion of the greatest of our charitable in- stitutions will again rise to the occasion. nun, WILL MAKE rm; cameras non eaooooo ro an counucrrn IN MARCH an ABOUNDING success ni: ci-ieiuorrerown cuss us». i7 , IAIN!
