Mr. Leard was born on November 12th HB at Try- on and was thus in the 94th year of his age. He was ot a long lived race. His father the late John Leard, who was also born at Tryon where he resided all his lils,llved over 91 mar.; his brothers all attained to more than three score years and ten. Samuel llved to be 88, William 82, and John 79, while ahister, _Mrs Wl1l~ iam Lea reached her 8-ith year. Another sister_Mrs William Howatt is still living and is over 81 years of age.
