He had retired the previous evening apparently in good health but passed away in the early hours of the morning stricken with a heart attack. A native of P.E.I. he was born at South Melville on June 15, 1908. son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fran- cis Bradley. Leaving home after attending public school. he work- ed in (fiiarlottetown for several ycars. after which he moved to New Brunswick in 1936 and be- came employed in the mines in Minto and Chipman. until the war. He enlisted in the Army early in 1941. serving in Canada. England and on the Western Front. Re- turning to Woodstock. N.B. He joined the Post Office staff where he remained until his death. He was a member of St. Gertrude's Church. Knights of Columbus lo- cal branch of Canadian legion. and the Woodstock Golf Club. Be- ing of a cheerful disposition he made acquaintances easily and leaves a host of freinds both her and in Woodstock who were shock- ed at his sudden passing. He leaves to mourn his wife. the former Irene Atherton of Woodstock. one sister (Mary) Mrs. John R. Cuaack. Emyvale and four brothers. Joe. Bolton. Mass. Wilfred. South Melville. and Maur- ice and Edwin. Kelly's Cross. two brothers. Cecil and George and a sister K ” predeceased him. His remains were transferred from the De Witt funeral home. Woodstock to the Charlottetown funeral home on Tuesday evening. and forwarded to the home of his brother Maurice. Kelly's Cross on Wednesday afternoon from where the funeral was held Thursday morning to st. Joseph's Church where requien Mass was celebrat- ed by Rev. James smith. P.P.who also officiated at the gra ye. Rev. Austin Bradley was present in the sanctuary. Interment was in the Church Cemetery.
