M. Smith gives some interesting in-
formation on this subject in the
“National Geographic Magazine."

bedded in the Soft tissues, as many
me forty having been found in one
Ceylon oyster. .\s the result of irri-
tation, the oyster forme a protecting

the Izirvne dies, its body is gradually

and the poarly niiiss proceeds to
grow with the shell.
