A beautiful green dye is obtain- ed from a sehweed found on the Welsh coast, and stutf dyed with it was shown at a recent meeting of hte Welsh Industries ~Assor.ia tion. A Japanese seaweed known as "Jugnmo" provides a fibre which can be spun and woven exactly like cotton. The weed is first boiled in un alkaline solution, and afterwards bleached. The weed being a common one, the discovery' may prove very valuable. Chinese doctors have been succ- rissflll in curing certain skin dis, eases with extracts from seaweed. l~Ixperi|nent.~\ in this direction are > Offers to the travelling lli'0pl<~ of lhookflelt ..
