The occupant of each house in the city, whose yearly rent shall exceed thirty dollars, shall provide and keep one leather bucket, to hold at least two gallons, with his or her name painted thereon, Each house shall have at least two good ladders, forming a complete connection between the ground and the ridge of the roof. Any occupant of a house omit- ting to have either the ladders or bucket, or failing te have them in good repair, shall, on conviction, be liable to the penalties of this By-law.
