GREA'Lpl'Iiae is due the choir of the First Methodist church for their excellent rendering «f Piele’s grand “ Te Deum’’ on last Sunday evening. It is not often we have an opportunity of having such beautiful soul-inspiring singing. ln ad- dition to the "Te Dc-um" Gilbert’: new anthem“Ar‘se shine for thy light is come” and Ha*to:.’.~4 “All the ends of the world have seen the salvat ion of our God " were most creditahly performed and greatly on- joyed by the large congregation . We wouldlikc tosugg st that ‘olr Earle through the coming winter give a series of organ recitals and that the choir assist with se- _'fil'he Messiah” and other sim Iar works. It fijould be greatly appreciated and liberally patrrnizgd by every lover 0' good music in our city. THE Mission Band in connection with St. Peter-’a‘road congregation gave a most interesting entertainment last Wednesday evéning in the presence of It good an- dience. The exercises consisted of mis sionary hymns, a Bible lesson on mis- sions and an examination of the members of the Band in the history of mission work in the New Hebrides. The boys and girls acquitted themselves admirably, showing a most intimate acquaintance with the history-‘ of that blood-stained mission field in the work of which Prince Edward Island has taken so prominent a part. Through the kindness of Mrs. Cu-1-others of Charlottetown some inter-” vsting curios from the New Hebrides we-re exhibited. Much of the suocer of the Band is due to the ellicient and talented President—Misa McEauhorn— who has been most untiring -in her efforts to advance this good work. The musical part of the entertainment,’ which was greatly enjoyed by all. was under the management of Mr. John F. Ferguson. Miss Libbie Stewart presiding at the iuntrumcnt.
