MEETING y LAST EVENING ‘The quarterly meeting of the Fish Game Protective Association was held last evening with the Pres- ident, Mr. W. H. Tidmarsh, in the chair. Mr. B. T. Gallant, Supervisor of Fisheries for Prince Edward ls- land, presented to the meeting the amendments to the Fishery Regula- tions for Prince Edward Island. which came into effect by Order in Councli of August 2i, 1934. 1n eflect these amendments permit the fish- ing of gespercau by gill-nets from June 1st to July 15th, in each year, subject to certain regulations and restrictions. The fishing of melts on Sunday is also pmhibtied. Mr. Gallant stated that in the last few years a. large number of complaints in regard to smelt flailing 0n Sun- days had been receivcd. The amend- ments also prohlbited the fishing of trout in ponds and lakes from the sixteenth day of September to the fifteenth day of April following, and from the 16th of September m the 30th of April in streams both days inclusive. Other changes in regard to trout fishing are also included in the amendments. There was no change made in the regulations per- taining to the fishing of rainbow trout. l It was moved b: Mr. D.
