VISITORS AT FOX RANGHES-
Many people visited the fox ranches
in the vicinity of the city on the
holiday. During the whole of the
summer there has been a constant
streams of Canadian, American and
English tourists to such ranches as
Spring Park; Victoria Farm, Bunbury
and the Dlnnis at Mt. Edward Road.

in the valuable stock and their sur-
roundings. _
MOTOR BOATS GROUNDED-
Owing to the low state of the tide on
enjoying a pleasant time in motor
boats up the West River beyond the
bridge had the unfortunate experience
of getting grounded. Quite a number
of the larger sized boats had to ‘ftie
up" the greater part of the afternoon
waiting for the evening tide to float
them. They all managed to get safe-
ly to port about 11 p.m.
DREDGING THE RIVER-On the
representations of Messrs. McLean &
Nicholson, M.P., the very necessary
work of dredging the Bonshaw has
been undertaken and is even now well
in progress. The worli of cleurlng
the waterway is being thoroughly
carried out. Besides the dredging o`
the river all snags and logs are being
removed and everything as satisfac-
tory as possible. The passage is be
ing .cleared to such an extent that
motor boats can now go safely up tf
