The steamer Britannia, of the North At- lantic Line,, Captain Doane, from Boston, October 24th, for Halifax, in ballast, struck on the Racehorse Shoals, off Cape Sable, yesterday morning. The ship came off al- most immediately, but her bottom being Barrington,~ East Bay, and beached her, where she now lies, a little east of West Head, at the northeast point of Cape Sable Island. From the head of Barrington har- bor the ship can be seen lying head on to the beach and sitting in an upright position. She is not at present in a dangerous position, but should an easterly gale spring up she will doub:less become a total wreck. There were eight passengers on board.
