Post Office Site Discussed By Trade Board At. tho regular monthly meeting of the Summerside Board of Trade held last. evening with the new president. Mr. R S. Hinton presid- ing. Mayor J.F. Arnetl: announced that in connection with the pro- posed change of site for the new post office he had received a tele- gram from Mr. RS. Hunter. dis- trict architect, Saint John. NB. which requested full particulars regarding the property. known as the Saunders property, such ns sewerage, lighting, etc. It will be recalled /that the proposal to ex- change the property known as the Allan Iot. where the Federal Go\'- ernment intended to erect the post office. for the Saunders lot owned by the Town, emanated from Mayor Arnett who was chairman of the committee appointed to prepare a brief to the Federal Government. This brief pointed out the many advantages which would result if the post office were to be erected On the Town lot. The new building will be approximately I20 by 109 feet and the Allan property is only I25 feet. square and the resulting congestion at the corner Church and Summer Streets was one of the points stressed in the brief.
