The deceased, whose maiden name was Miss Howat-t, was born in Tryon, about 82 years ago, but lived for about hal-f a century in Midgell. Her home was- noted for kindness and hospitality. The P. O. having been in it for many years, drew young and old thereto, where they were always met with n kindly greeting. The deceased possessed splendid qualitlesoi mind and heart, and was highly esteemed for her fine Chris- tinn spirit nnd genial disposition. She was nn invalid for over two Years, and for the last year was bed- band. who has reached the ripe nge Of 37 Years, and by an only daugh- ter, Cassie, who lovingly and iaith- hilly cared for her mother during her long illness. The funeral, which was largely attended, was conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. M..
