a hat of brown velvet and metallic
brocade, and carried n shower bou-
quct‘of pale pink carnations. The
bride and groom were unattended,
and Mwsrs. James and Ira McDon-
ald acted as ushers. The ladlx of
Hunter River congregation had dec-
orated the church for the occasion
with femii and pottedplants, form-
ing a beautiful background for the
ceremony. Guests and well-wishers of
this popular couple filled the church
to capacity, and following the cere-
mony a reception was held at the
home of the bride for the immediate
relatives of the contracting parties.
The bride received many beautiful
and valuable gifts. including a num-
ber of substantial cheques, and n. few
days previous to her marriage slic
had been "showered" by her friends
with numerous and appropriate gifts.
The bride, who is well known
throughout the province as a, suc-
cessful teacher, will be much missed
in the community, where she always
took part in all its various activities.
The happy couple left the following

The broods represented in the ccn~
_test include 42 White Leghorns, 30
Barred Plymouth Rocks, :l Rhode rn-
land Reds, 2 White Wyandoties, 1
Australorp 1 Light Sussex.
The new contest house is being us-
ed for the twelfth Canadian Egg Lay-
ing Contest. It has an improved lo-'
cation with a southern exposure and
thc protection of n wind break on
the north making it much more fav-
orable for the purposes of the con-
test than houses previously occupied.
'Ihe total length of the new house is
354 feet. made up of n cciitrol house
nnd feed room 30 feet by 30 feet with
wings on either side 162 fcet long by
10 feet wide. Each pen is 18 feet by
lil feet which nccomodaics four
grouped pclls of the heavy breeds (48
birdsl and five grouped pens of the
light brcds '60 birds.)
