Saints And Play To Scoreless Draw A. J. Mm'Adom's Saint Dun- xtan's University senior football team battled to a scoreless draw with the Mount A. thirteen here Saturday afternoon in the first Home of the N.B.-P.E.I. Intercol- legiate Series. The game was played on tho S. D. U. field with is driving north- east wind carrying a hiring cold rain down on the spectators and llllufers. Most. of the spectators watched the game from their cars or through a college window. Saints held at slight territorial advantage over their opponents and their inexperienced scrum out- heeled thnl. of the Mounties. The weather made the ball on hnrri to handle as is wet cake of map with the result that there were few good half-line plays. Each team moved into. ru-orinz position several times but. neither ever r-rnsscrl their opponents five Kohl line. Saints threatened once in the first half and twice in the sr-r-onrl with the Mounties doing the same thing. Saints name close in the dying minutes of the first half on A long run and several scruma on the Mounties five yard line but could not cross. Midway in thr- half Ilia Mounties threatened and were awarded rs penalty kick about 25 yards from the bar but could not make it. Early in the second-lmlf. Polo Tlunphy. who played a great grime for the Saints. followed up A long dribble to grnh in the ball and go across standing up but the play was called back on account of a knock-on. Joe Mnlleite set up their next scoring opportunity with I 20-.vnrd run but the MOliIll- ies lino hold the S. D. 1'. attacks and A penalty kick relieved the pressure. This penalty kick was the sig- nnl for the Mounties to start their most. dangerous scoring thrust. They arivnnced in the Red and White five-yard line and only sharp tackling by the Saints hall- nd them. After their first repulse tlwv Pflnlfl bark again hut two brilliant tackles by Kenny Mar- hnnnlri and Jorrv Clinton snuffed out a nice ltnlf-li.ne run. Sninls supporters were pleased with the work of the S. D. 1'. serum which was regarded as Ham and inexperienced.
