To the Freshmen who have successfully weathered the, registration storm, I welcome you to the university campus and hope your 4-year stay at UPEI will be enjoyable and - fulfilling. To the new students whose main goal istotrytcfitina few classes and studies between parties, Pigs and athletic events ,‘ I wish you good luck. To those who are only con— cerned with classes and studies, let me take this opportunity to direct you to the psychology lab to get your head read. 'Ihat's enough analysis and advice for the time being, because the main priority of the Business Society this year is to try and install some form of involvement in the Bteiness students and try to rid them of any negative feelings about campus life. Of course we have plans, all organizations do, but to be of service to you, the student, we must carry out the ideas to the best of our ability. ’Ib do this we need a form of feedback where you are offering your opinions, whether they be complinentary or critical, so we can improve the next time. As for our first party, we had a satisfactory turnout of about .120 members and another 60 or so guests. Being there myself, I wit— nessed a group who seemed to have a good tine but also a few that were bored. , To those of you just filling in time, we will do better the next time. As for the upcoming ' events, we are presently planning another party, with entertainment, but most of our time is .or THE Students Conference, to be held here starting on the 26th of October. There will be speakers from various parts of Eastern Canada, sharing their knowledge with Business students from ‘ each university in the being spent on organizing the Atlantic Business Atlantic region. While on the topic of sports, we in the , Business department ha our own group of heroes at the intercollegiate: level. Four Business students cmprised the UPEI golf team and did a magnificent job in representing the university and the Busines Business department. Senior John Neville led the way (my choice for ,Athlete of the Math) and was followed closely by Freshman lee Brarmer, Juniors Steven Dowling and Dave Stevenson. They were guided by coach ‘ Earl Nicholson and captured the AUPA title.
