583001 The University of Prince Edward Island Student Union in conjunction with other universities and the Cana— dian Federation of Students, held National Student Week, March 21 - 25. Students had the opportunity to meet with and address their concerns to several govern— ment representatives: Bennett Cainpbell, P.E.I. 's only Federal Cabinet Minis- ter; Premier Lee; and Leone Bagnall, Minister of Edu- cation. Students also had the opportunity to direct , Questions to Pres. Meonke. The topics were cont- inuing probleq unemploy— ment among students and government furr'ifnu to U.P.E.I. Several pert- inent announcenents with regard to the levels of government were made to the U.P.E.I. students. Also, as a result of last week ' 5 activities , a Women's group is now in its initial stages of formation at U.P.E.I. More information will be made at a later date with regard to this. The Senate Committee on Long Range Academic Planning released its report on Thursday of last week and the U.P.E.I. Student Senators were available for information and ccmnent on CIT/IN the same night. A meeting will be held during this week to organize a student. union response to this report. It is encouraging to see U.P.E.I. becoming in— volved in issues that dir— ectly affect the students SENIOR WEEK. The folloWing is the schedule . for Senior Week as of March 20, 1983.
