The annual meeting of “Provincial ,Silver Black Foxes, Limited" \vas held In the Board of Trade Rooms last evening, with a large attendance of shareholders, both ladies anti gentle- men. The meeting throughoiit was of ii very harmonious nature and the shareholders expressed themselves as iiighly pleased with the Directors’ re- port. They realised that the success of the year had been achieved in spite ol' the exceptional conditions resul- tant from the war. The Report of the Directors was read by the President, lion. John Agnew, and was as follows: At this. the second General Meeting of the “Provincial Silver Black Foxes, Limited," your directors beg to re- port as follows: That the results from our first year have been most gratifying anti not- withstantling the disturbed financial conditions brought aliotit by the Eil- roponn war, your directors were ahlc to declare a cash diviilctitl of t'ort_y pcr cent., which was paid on the 15th September last. The production from the company's five pairs of proved breeders was pro- bably the highest on record, being 21 pups, or an average of over four pups to the pair. (12 males anti 9 females.) The sum of $89,000 was realized from pups disposed of. One pair has been reserved for the (‘.onipnny. thus reducing our capitalization _during the first year over 15 per cent. per pair. A substantial surplus has been earned after payment of dividend and cost of maintenance and carried forward to 1915. Full particulars in detail will be submitted for your consideration and approval. Notwithstanding that there have been attempts made in some direc- tions to “knock” the Fox lndustry, by foreign newspapers and otherwise. your directors have every confidence in the pcrmoncncy of the lndustry, when conducted on proper lilies. 'i‘hosc who arc lnciillctl to knock thc lndustry should be invited to give it ilic closest invcstlgiition possible, ill order to properly judge it on its mer- its. it is estimated that 75 per cent. or tho capital invested in otir fox ranches is l’.
