He l ‘ was in his 81st year. l Registrar at the university from ‘l- 1902 lo 1930, Dr. Nicholson became recognized as an authority in all matters pertaining to education and his counsel was widely sought, not only within the university walls but throughout the province. Born at Eldon, Belfast, P.E.I., on March 2'7, 1860, son of Hon. James Nicholson and Mary Jane Munro, his father represented the Belfast District in the Provincial Parlia- ment for a number of years, dur- ing part of the time as a member of the Conservative Government of the day. Dr. Nicholson was educated at the Belfast Grammar School and Prince of wales College. Charlotte- town, P.E.l.
