Nov. 28—(CP)—All classes of livestock were firm to- day on the Montreal livestock mar- ket, the Dominion Department of Agriculture reported. Receipts were 295 cattle, 31 sheep and lambs, l,- 158 hogs and 182 calves. The bulk oi’ the cattle offered were oommo to Just plain quality cows and bul‘s. A few good cows made $5 to $5.50 with medium kinds from $4.25 to $4.75 andcom- mon butchers $3.50 up. Canners and cutters were $2.75 to $3.25. Crmmon bulls ranged from $3.50 to $4. Good veals were $10.50 with an odd one at $11. Medium kinds were as low as $7.50. Drinkers were $5.50 in $7.50 and grassers mostly $4.75. Good ewes and wethers were $10 Heavy lambs $9. Cu‘ls and bucks $8. Sheep were from $3 to $5. Bacon hogs were $9.25 fed and watered and up to $935 off trucks. Selects drew $1 per hog premium with the regular cuts on off grades. Feeder hogs were slow and brought $10 to $11 according to weight and quality. Sows were $6.25 to $5.75. Hogs on rail grade sold up to $12.39 hot weight.
