CRITICAL OPERATION.-By later
advices The Guardian learns that
Miss Katie McPhee, of Tryon, to
whose illness in the Moncton Hospi-
tal reference was made a few days
ago, is steadily improving. Her re-
covery, which is confidently hoped for,
is s triumph of medical and surgical
skill. Taken ill ol allvendicitis on
Wednesday at Salisbury, N. -B., she
was taken to the Moncton Hospital
on Friday and the operation was per-
formed Saturday, only barely in time
to' save her life as the doctors had
hard work to keep her alive during
the operation. ,Her many friends will
be glad to know that she is now on
the way to complete health.
