Moreli Scores l5-i2 Victory Over Montague Moreli Whitc Stars last night de- feated the Montague Meteors 15-12 at the Montague rink to repeat a previous defeat handed out by the Moreli squad two weeks ago. Although only a small crowd at.- tended. those who were present witnessed a fast. rugged game of hockey into which both teams put all they had. Ragged in the first period. the game improved In the second and third to become a wide open. fast passing encounter. with the teams attnclling each obhe-l:'s zone constantly. The goalies were hard put to hold out the many shots which came their way. and the locals gave a real exhibition of hockey. and matched the win-' ners during all three periods. The scoring edge continued. however. and Moreli took the honors. For the locals Power led the way with six counters. with Clements. P. Fraser. and Macbean getting a brace each. For the vIsitors'J. The trip out will take him and his family nearly two weeks of travel. he infoims us. Little or no hockey has been played here this winter owing to the ('IltlIIgIllg' weather. It was very hard to get ice on the open rink. Now that the season is slipping away there won't be much. A few days ago we observed a group of older men on the station platform at Moreli. talking of the old rink. Yes. many of us remember the old Moreli rink right beside the C.N.R. station where special trains from the city with a band to supply the music arrived here loaded with skaters and hockey players every week. Thousands of dollars were taken in at this rink in thcse days, yet. the rink died poor. fell down and was carted away for kindling wood. Nothing has ever been built on the sight. only memories and harsh words about the funds. The greatest hockey player this vicinity ever knew paid with his life from a severe cold. He was the great A. Murphy. Pulp wood has got to be the rage here this winter and everyone seems to be butchering their woods. In many cases lumber is being out into pulp wood by those who do not know the difference. Several cars have been loaded here and some loaders say its almost im- possible to get box cars for loading the wood. one man is reported as loading three cars alone. It is be- lieved the pulp business will be like the Christmas trees. more harm than good. Mr. James Arnold has completcd re-modelling his house here after making many changes. The kitchen was moved from the front to the back and a back door put in and a new porch entrance and a new sunporch on the front. One would never believe what a difference can be made in a home when you go the right way about changing it. The entire house has been wired and the power on. - B Cambridge-.l."eIter's Road First Aid course Held A group of keenly interested candidates completed tests for Red Cross Standard First Aid Certif- icaics in Cambridge School recent- ly.
