Siaiion The almost continuous sound of aircraft overhead which was so familiar to Summersida residents during the war years. was heard again on Monday night as night flying got under way again in the peacetime training program of the R. C. A. F. Station, Surnmerside. With the station becoming fully operative more and more flying will be carried on. However, it may not be as noticeable to the people of the Town as on Mon- day night for two reasons: there will be more long distance flying and on many days the wind will he blowing in a different direc- iicn and planes taking of! and landing will not go over the Town. Many of the pilots on the stat- ion have only recently received their wings and they are now practising taking off and landing after dark. Later when navigat- ional training flights un mence it will be of a long distance nature and the planes will not be over the local area veYy much. On Monday night the wind direction necessitated taking off and land- ing in a direction that brought the planes directly over Town but on many nights this will not be _the case. The sound of airplane motors is pleasing to most people locally as it indicates increasing activity at the local station.
