The proposal is a weleome one from
everv standpoint and should be taken
advantage of quickly. We do not sup.
pose the fact that Hr. McDonald is a
native of Prince Edward Island has par-
ticularly induenced his desire to help
out the Maritime Provii ces in their adn-
cational problems, and in any calc it
matters little what may have suggested
the good work, the chief and main point
is for us to begin at once and prepare
to comply with the donor’s coudiions
whichlare simply enongh. The town
of New Glasgow is making an olort lc.
secure the gift and we would like to see
friendly rivalry in the contest for the
prize. The claims of the City of
Halifax as being the more suitable loco- '
tion for the inauguration of it school of
manual training hardly needs slebor-
ation, and we]wculd suggest that some
action be taken to have the establish
ment at Halifax, particularly in view of
the recent arrangements between the
Nova Scotia and the New Brunswick
governments with regard te the opening
of schools of inrrnctiou for our grow-
ing generation.
