Two Hon Killed and Grout Damago Dons About the Island- i At 5 o‘clock Sunday afternoon. dur- ing the heavy thunder and lightning storm, the house of Mr. William Duffy, at Kelly`s Cross, was struck and shir- tered. Two meh, Thomas W. Mon- aghan and Owen Trainor, neighbors who at the time were visiting Mr. Duffy. _ were killed outright. The lightning en- _tered the `nouse through a chimney, tearing down an upstair partition. Thence it went down to the lower floor. _Mr Monaghan was sitting in the dining groom chatting. In an adjoining room Wits Mr. Trainer. Sitting between the two was Mr. Duffy, who escaped without injury. Miss Duffy, who was in the house at the time. also r - ceived a shock, from which she fort ately recovered. The affair has crea _ ed much excitement. The switch to the telegraph oliice was badly damaged during the progress of tie storm. About ten o’clock Sunday night.
