The six Charlottetown merchants who were wrecked on the steamer Labrador near Skerryvore light@bout a month ago, returned to their homes yesterday, and the giad band of fellowship is being extended to them On all sides and by all persons. Everyone is pleased to eee them back again, and to know ‘that, notwithsianding Lneir rough experience, they areall in ex- cellent bealth and spirits. The party, with &@ oumber of friends who went down to Georgetown to meetthem, came to Charlottetown about 4 15 yesierday after- noon by special train. The arrival of the train was signaized by the exploding of torpedoes placed upon the rails, the biowing of whistles, the ringitg of bells, and in other ways, and hundreds of people were atthe siation and in its vicinity to meetand greet the returning Islanders. After land: g, aod receiving the congratu- lations of their friends, the party were es- corted to barouches, Galbra:th’s band, which was in waiting,playing the Natioual Anthem. Then tne procession siarted, the band leading the way, ava the princi- pal streets of the eity were traverced be- fore the members ofthe party were taken to their respective homes. They brougat with them many interesting souvenirs of their experience,—the circumstances connected with which must liager long in their memories. RECEPTION TO FATHER CONRAN A farewell reception was tendered Rev. Marcel Conran by St. Peter’s congregation iu their schoolroom last evening.
