     set today by the threatening situ- 
     
     ation in Central Europe and a 
     
     downward price movement 
     
     tinued till the close. A few [old 
     
     issues tightened up in the final 
     
     new minutes but the indioes closed 
     
     around the low for the day. Base 
     
    
   
   
    
     metal shares lost 1.37, the golds 
     
     1.35, industrials 1.11 and the 
     
     western oils .58. 
     
    
   
   
    
     The price declines brought out 
     
     stock in only moderate volume 
     
     and the day’: turnover of 390,000 
     
     shares was no greater than the 
     
     average for the last three weeks. 
     
     Issues posting losses of 5 to 10 
     
     cent were East Mslartlc, Little 
     
     Long Lac. MacLeod-Cockshuit,
