To give an impetus to this very import- ant brunch of geographical study inap- drawing, I offered in October |901 _ flftcen dollars’ worth of hooks as prizes to be aw- arded to pupils of the Eastern Inspec- torate sending theiliest specimens of map- drawing. Very great interest was taken in the competition. Between two and three hundred pupils competed sending in over live hundred specimens of insp- drawing. The prizes were duly nwnrded on June lilth, 1002. As the interest in map drawing among our schools is not as great as I would wish, ‘I have decided to again ofter fifteen dollars' worth of books for com- petition, hoping that the same interest that was displayed in the last competition may be exhibited in this. The com- petition opens October lst, i904 and closes June lst,~lD05.' The prizes will be dis- tributed am ng ‘ Grades IV, V and VI. Five dollars' worth of books willbe given to each grade. Pupils are not limited as to the number of specimens they may send, and may draw any maps they wish, and any number they wish.
