Indeed, the topic of the Cadre’s changeover to the Panther Post has been met with questions by all. From a personal perspec- tive, even though I accept full responsibility for the concept The Other Side of the Story y Lucas McInnis of a name change, I am now questioning whether it was a proper decision. UPEI, frankly, is not exactly known for its high percentage of school and I plead ignorance in my idea of a name change. While I thank all those who proposed new names, and I especially thank those who voted, I must retract my idea tic, and most recently, have started branching out through Charlotte- town, dropping off copies at mul- tiple businesses for the city. So I must ask, is the new name the right move? Despite the election, I have been inundated with people who say no. - Some have said despite the elec- tion the vote does not represent the feeling of the student body as the entire body did not vote. And despite the election many are hard pressed to call your worthy newspaper anything but the Cadre. ready-to-serve students. The school seems to be run by a few dedicated students, as opposed to a significant portion of the student body raising hands and butting to the front of the line to participate in any activ- ity they can. This is my second year at this paper needs. s Letter to the Editor that a name change is what this Take note, this newspaper has changed its ways. We have begun giving real campus news, embraced the idea of a second source of news through our friends at the Seman- If all goes to plan, your worthy newspaper will be moving back to bi-weekly, bringing more news, more often. So ask yourselves, what name do you want attached to this news? Lucas Mcinnis is the editor-in-chief of the Panther Post The Wave needs new and better security The Editor: I’m thoroughly disgusted with the treatment I received Wednesday night at The Wave. I was sitting at a ta- ble, quietly minding my own business (and I mean it: _ I was doing nothing else) when suddenly two mem- bers of their so-called “security” decided to disturb my peace. I was unjustly and forcefully pushed out of your bar tonight (Wednesday Jan. 21), after having - some kind of mark made on my hand (what’s the point of this, for humiliation? You should be ashamed. Why the hell would I want to try to get back in to your ugly bar). They ejected from their throats that I was “too drunk.” In fact, I had about three to four beers, far from being too drunk. And I was harming no one! I’m appalled by what you consider security. On the Wave’s website it claims they strive for the best night- life experience. If they strive for the best, then why is their security so moronic and can’t do their job right, throwing innocent people minding their own business out? I never even heard of people being thrown out for doing nothing! I can understand if I was too drunk and causing a disturbance of some kind. But I wasn’t causing any disturbance and I wasn’t even drunk. Perhaps they better hire new security because what they have is bad for business. I for one will never return to The Wave again. I expect to get in contact with the head of security about this total nonsense. They haven’t heard the last from me. What happened to me last night was unjust. And I intend to make those joke idiot excuses for masculin- ity security automatons—who can’t even do their job right—answer to this, if they can answer to anything. Throughly disgusted with the Wave and their poor _ choice of security, Stephen MacLeod Letters to the editor and guest opinions must bear the signature and class of the author.
