13th instant is so extremely, though
we presume ufiintcntionally, unjust to

_Let it then be observed that the
Guaanlairs object in securing and

of our mail service. No one has
ventured to challenge the accuracy of
the table. .Our object was neither
ofensive nor defensive so far as any
'political party is concerned. Much less
was it intended as an answer to the
-charge made against the conveyance
of the mails by teams between Sack-
ville and Tormentine. That branch
of the service must stand on its own
merits.
We would like to get at the facts
as to the comparative merits of the
train mail service in past years and
team service of this year between
and Tormentine. In regard
to that matter those who are attack-
ling the service from day to day can
render some service if they will an-
swer a few questions. It is contended
that the government ought to employ
special trains on the ' Sackville
Tormentine Railway. Did the
late government employ special
trains for the mail service on that
road-'l What would be the cost oi
auch special trains, if now employed?
And, what would be the gain in time
if such special trains were employed 'Z
We have seen it stated in print that
