N.Y.. an out- standing horseman with wide and varied experience. will Judge titel Light Horse classes at this y:'n"s- Fair from Novetrbe 2 to Novem-' ber I inclusive. Born in bondon. England. Mr. Hawkins served his aonrentice- ship under two of the best trainers in England. He rode suc- cessfully in many parts of Eur- ope and in Australia, later serv- ing four years in the British Ar- my during the First World War. Following his army discharge, Mr. Hawkins came to the .United States to take charge of the well known Laddie Sanforti's stable of hunters and polo ponies. , He served as a whip for the Genesee Valley Hurst for sever al years and in mi establ shed his own stable. He was the orig inator of the Orangeburg Hunt Club. and hunted the hounds for some ten years. until the U.S. Government took over the whole area for a military camp during World War Two. With wide and varied exper- al years. and in lull established bnca as a horse Judge in the United tstes and Canada. Mr. Ha-wklna has served five terms as President of the Professional lHorsemen's Association of Amer- cn.
