The cook’s wife at first was supposed to have a dislocat- ed spine, but is now a little better. She will probably be a cripple for life.” ' Another letter says: "At thejuneral the little church was full. The pastors from surrounding places took part in the services. Many telegrams of sympathy were presented, the names of the senders given, and some ot them read. . On the way to the grave the town band played a dirge, having asked permission to do so. From the position of the remains Mrs. A. must have'reached, and perhaps started down the back stairs, and either have fainted or been overpowered. The cook’s wife says she broke through a part- ition, and called Mrs. A. to follow. and thought she was following.
