Gordon. age 79. On January 2nd. 1916 Miss Gordon died after only a few days illness of pneu- monia. Her brother attending her funeral and seeming in his usual good health in two days time he also was stricken and despite all that niedl- cal science and careful nursing could do. he also succumbed to the same disease. Both were suddenly called and ushered into the great beyond from which none ever return. They both were of a kind and genial dispo- sition and many knew their hos- pitality and kindness. Tire late Mr. Gordon was a very energetic and prosperous farmer owning land in Brudenell and Cardigan. I-Ie_ and his sister were the last of a family of ten children of the late Henry Gordon, one of the Brudenell pioneers, four sis ters, Anita, Christina.Elizabetli, Mrs. Law McLaren and four brotliers.I-ion. Daniel, Capt. James, John and George predeceased tlieru. Wrii. Gordon leaves to mourn the double loss, his wife (Jane Scrlniegeor) three sons, Stat- forri. Henry, Charles and five daugh- ters. Margaret, Mary, Jean, Ada and Lillian, all at home. The sympathy of the wliole_commnulty goes out to the family ln their double bereavement. ...*A CAPABLE OFFICIAL.--Mr. Duncan McDonald, section foreman of the Georgetown-Cardigan section of railroad, has a record for long ser- vice which is perhaps unequalled argong the employees of the Prince E ward island Railway. Mr. McDon- ald entered the employ of the rail- way unde; its present management, that is to say, since it became a Gov- ernment road. on the 16th of April, 1875, so that in a very short time he will have completed forty~one years of active, urrlrrterrupted honorable service in the railway employ. Pre- vious to that time he had worked at the building of the railway in 1872 and also as a section man in 'the employ of the company who built the road and operated it previous to its being taken over by the Domin- ior_i Government. Mr. McDonald re- ceived his appointnrcnt as section man on the railway under its 'iie\v management on the recommendation of Messrs. Burpee and Schreiber, the contractors who built the railroad and that their confidence in him wus not misplaced is shown by thc fact it Ol Sewers and of His Majesty King Edwzircl VII Charlottetown" and of all Acts in thereto. _ City of Ciiarlottetowii Wi LL In Ward 1 West, at or near the shop of Patrick Murray, on the East side of Queen Street, being number 40 Queen Street.
