Caledonian Club ` Monthly Meeting The regular monthly meeting of the Caledonian Club was held yes- terday evening in their club rooms the President Mr. Abeii MacLean oc- cupying the chair. There was a large attendance, and much liitercst. was manifested in the proceedings. It was unaiiiinously decided to hold the annual gathering at Vemon River station, July lst. It was also decided to hold a grand whist party master, he discovered receipts for a total of $330 sent or given to inspec- tor Grlfflths. Inspector Griffiths had admitted receiving payment of $200 by registered letter but had not plac- ed it to the postmaster's account be- cause he wanted to walt until he could make a "better showing." The superintendent added that he was inclined to believe the postmasters accounts of payments were correct. Mr. Bennett then turned to what he termed the "Bhediac incident." in connection with the administration of the poetoffice there by Mr. Grif- fiths. In 192'!
