Drama Assoc. Meets At the conclusion of the Drama Short Course. the Executive mem- bers oi the Drama Association met on Thursday evening, November atn, ior an informal discussion and to plan for the year's work ahead. Discussions cent:ed around the revision oi the Intorniation Bulle- tin (izs allow for the inclusion oi three act plays, and "Beginner's" class); appointments to Publicity Committee and Junior Drama Directorate; possible adjudica- tors for 1952 Festival; member- ship campaign; iinances; and the need oi a Drama Adviser ior the Province. A very pleasing feature oi the meeting was the presentation oi as gilt to Mr. Meiklejonn irom the Association for his most helpful instruction oi the Short Course students. Mrs. Gates, the Presi- dent. voiced the sentiments 'oi all with her words oi sincere ap- preciation to Mr. Meikiejohn and expressed the hope that when he came again. the class would be a. much larger one. Mr. Melkleiohn replied Incst iittinzly. and said it had been for him a very enjoy- able three days with such an in- terested group. A committee was named to in- terview the proper authorities concerning the need ior a Provin- cial Drama Adviser as a co-ordin- sting as well as instructive aid. Sligh changes xere made in the rules ich would permit three act plays to he incliideri. It was also agreed that a ”Beglnners' class should be added, so that plays entering the Festival for the first time would not have to com- pete with the more experienced players who were familiar with Festival procedure. It was also suggested that the adjudication given puulicly dur- ing play-oiis and iinnls, should be confined to general remarks. Marks and individual criticisms should be given privately to dir- cctors and players concerned.
