x ‘Manitoba Challenges Other Western ‘Provinces WINNIPEG (CUP) — Entrepreneurship training will soon be avail- able to northern communi- ties all over the West, if the Manitoba department of ed- ucation can entice other edu- cation ministers into signing a distance education agree- ment. “The project will involve the four western provinces, the North West Territories and the Yukon,” said Don Lussier, executive director of the newly created Dis- tance Education and Tech- nology branch of the min- istry education. “Our proposal is to use print, computer networks, TV, video and satellite to get this course through to people in remote areas in all six edu- cational jursidictions (in the West),” said Lussier. While the branch is hop- ing to have the agreement signed by January, they have already outlined a plan of ac- tion. “We have to do a needs analysis to find out what peo- ple would like in a course on entrepreneurship, give this to the jurisdictions to de velop the curriculum, and then find out how to reuse or modify resources already out there,” said Lussier. The education level of the people tying into the pro- gramme is expected to be college level or, more basic. Manitoba’s education minister, Roland Penner, said this proposal is Canadian Airlines International - welcomes aboard the footloose traveller with this special offer: those under age 22 travelling economy class on a stand-by basis Lome for ways to escape?
