Marie Miirtin wife of William A
Mussi. Though the past few years of
r her life had been spent in Ashmoiit,
Mrs Martin wns for thirty years or
` more a i-csiilmit of the Lower Mills
and wus well known and highly res-
pected by a liirgc number of friends,
who sincerely mourn her loss. She
leaves her husband nnd their eleven
children. `
-Born in North Attleboro, Mass.,
_May 26, 1856, daughter ol-Leonard
and Mrs. Altrletli. she nttendcd
school in Boston, and in 1874 marr-
ied Mr. Martin in Cambridge. They
came tn the Lower Mills to live,
Occuiiying n house on Temple street.
Mrs Martin early became identified
with the Village church, and for
years was a member of the society
and a worker. I-lei: greatest interest
was her home and her children, to
whom she devoted herself to the ex-
clusion of most outside interestsf
All of Mrs. Mnrtin’s children sur-
vive lier, They are Alexander A., of
Brooklyn, N. Y'; Frederick W., of
Everett, Wash.; J. George, of Chic-
ago; Mrs. Oscar Kurtz, of North
Attlelioro; Mary J.` Louise, Leonard,
William E., T. Edwin, L. Perkins
and E. Wellington, of Ashmont. She
also leaves her mother, Mrs. Leonard
Altrieth of Medford.
Funeral services were held. Wed-
nesday afternoon at Mrs. Martin's
late home and were conducted by
Rev. Webster H. Powell of the Metho-
dist ciiurch. There was a great num-
ber of floral tributes. Burial was at
Cedar Grove Cemetery._At the ser-
vices Rev. Mr.'Powuli read n tribute
